latest NewsCOVID-19 UPDATE

March 12, 2020by adam

Sunday, March 15th 2020 Mayor Cooper and The Metro Health Department passed an ordinance closing all Davidson County bars where less than 50% of their totals sales were from food. The Black Abbey Brewing Company Taproom (Fellowship Hall) falls into that category and we will comply with The Health Department requirements. We have canceled all events in the taproom including trivia, game nights and weekly brewery tours.

Our taproom will remain open, however, for TO GO BEER ONLY starting today, March 16th, 2020 at 2pm.  We will have kegs, cans and growler fills available for to go purchase.
We are changing our taproom hours to 2pm-7pm daily until further notice.
We will continue to follow CDC and WHO guidelines for rigorously cleaning and sanitizing our facility, as well as maintaining staff hand washing and hygienic conduct protocol. We ask that our customers follow “Social Distancing” recommendations and encourage guests to wash their hands thoroughly and often.
Bars, restaurant and venues are being shut down, some for good, but assistance for displaced staff is slower in coming. We continue to adjust our business model to try and keep the lights on and the beer flowing, but these changes stand to significantly effect our front of house team. We will apply a 20% auto-gratuity to all orders, but Bekah, Devin, Emily and Heather rely on your beer purchases and your gratuity for their livelihood. We are very grateful to be able to stay open in this limited capacity to continue to provide work for them, so please come grab a keg, a growler or a case of beer. We sell gift cards, shirts, hoodies and hats (they would look good on you!), grab a gift card here or on our webstore and save it for when we go back to “normal”. Pick up a six pack at the store and ask for Black Abbey on draft as your favorite pub. Our folks are grateful to keep working and so are we.
